(Google stock image. Image description: A lit candle is set on a table. The clear glass holder for the votive candle has words written on it in red: “Jesus – the name above all names. Phil 2:9”. The candle is lit and the words can be clearly read because of the light.)

Call on the name
It had been said
Soldiers in the earthly field
Cry aloud at the last
For their mothers
Fathers
Wives
Husbands
Lovers

Not simply upon a name but for the person
From
The core crying out
For the one
Who loves
Comforts
Protects
Provides

Here at the last
The names
Resounding
rolling over the field
Poured outward
faint thunder
rumbling
Breath
Final offering
A lingering incense

Yet defeat
Dear one is not
Meant to be your refrain

Here and now
As it has been
And will be
(More than a name)
Is our God

A name
Above all names
A shelter
A tower
A banner
Of Victory
Of Protection
Care
Provision
Love
In all its strength

More than a name:
The God of creation

How it would be if
Still on our feet
We stood
And called upon God’s name
Victorious?
Put on our armour
Stood
And Called on the name?

More than Susan’s horn
Or the shofar’s shout
Our voices raised loud
Our eyes and hearts strong
Looking to our Victor-Captain?

Call upon His name!

Hear the Holy Spirit coming reverberating
The Holy Eastern wind of heaven
Coming like a storm
Bringing all to life!

The life-song
You once knew
Now sing!
Shout!

He is already there
Call upon Him

He is your
(Good)
Mother
Father
Wife
Husband
Lover
Friend
Healer

Call upon His Name

The Victorious-One
He has overcome it all
He who NOW lives
Jesus
the Christ!
